Music can take over a soul
Music can take over a soul
Composition:
Cropping: I have included the whole body of the subject with a lot of other objects like the wine bottle, guitar, and a wine glass in the subjects hand to show the subjects love and passion for music.
Focus: My focus in this Image is on the subject’s expression of him being lost in music.
Orientation (portrait or landscape): I have clicked a landscape photograph to show all the elements in the photo and to get the full body of the subject in the frame.
Concept/Aboutness/Idea:
I clicked the image to show that all the people have some attachment with some kind of art in their lives, like my subject has with music. I want to show how he is trying to cover his depression with alcohol and music.
Method/motivation:
My motivations behind this image were all the objects around my house and my roommate who was willing to pose for the shot.
Context:
I feel this image is self explanatory, and clearly shows the depression that the subject is trying to cover with music and wine.
Part 2:
Interpetation: Getting lost with the music, the wine in the subjects hand adds to it.
Evaluation: Contrast is good. Change the light and try changing the background to just bricks if I re-click the image. The expression of the subject looks good. The details are visible in the shirt which is nice.
Extension: Different recreations/arts could be clicked to make a series like painting, dancing, etc.
Print Suggestions: Glossy or Matt both could work.

Expectations Recreated
Composition:
Cropping: I have included half of the body of the subject’s body and not much background. And the lighting I used emphasizes on the subjects face.
Lighting: In this picture lighting has played a vey important role. Only some part of the subject’s body is bright, while the rest is dark which gives it a great effect.
Orientation (portrait or landscape): I have clicked a portrait photograph, as that Raja Ravi Verma’s painting is also portrait.
Concept/Aboutness/Idea:
This image was a recreation of a painting by Raja Ravi Verma called ‘Expectations’. I tried to make the image exactly like the original.
Method/motivation:
I have a friend from India who had the same attire as the lady in the painting. I thought that as it’s an unique attire, the image can turnout to be great.
Context:
I didn’t have an intention of a context when I clicked it, although now I fell this it could be on a heritage or cultural theme.
Part 2:
Interpretation: Shows heritage, tradition and culture.
Evaluation: Overall looks excellent. The lighting the contrast and the subject itself. It could crop the image a little from the bottom as that part is blurred.
Extension: Same type of composition can be used to show different cultures. As this one depicts the Marathi culture.
Print Suggestions: Glossy looks good. Bigger size will look good.
