Blur it from life

Part 1:

Composition:

Contrast: I feel that the contrast has come out to be optimal in this image. The subject stands out very nicely in this image, which a lot of whites and blacks in the image.

Focus: In this image the focus is on the Zippo Lighter, and one can clearly see, even the smallest details of the subject. The net we see behind the subject comes out to be blurred which helps the subject to stand out.

Lighting: Lighting has played a very important role in this picture. The shadows, the lights and the darks has given the picture a great effect.

Concept/Aboutness/Idea - I clicked this Image to show how many of us on this planet have become a prey of Smoking or Alcoholic drinks. I want people to become more conscious about their health and blur out such things from life, just like how I have shown the lid of the lighter getting blurred.

Method/motivation:

My motivation behind this image was a lighter laying around in my house, which I thought to be a great subject as it had steel in it with a lot of black. I thought of it as a good subject to show contrast in the image.

Context:

This image has a deep meaning to it, which I feel one can only perceive if he has some knowledge about why the photographer clicked it. This was a self-inspired piece of art.

Part 2:

Interpretation: This image was interpreted as a commercial piece of work by my classmates. Some of them actually thought I should be send my image to Jack Daniels, which I did.

Evaluation: Everyone in my class loved the detail and the contrast in this image. I love it the way it is.

Extension: I could make more images of the same lighter with different backgrounds or different lights by Zippo with the same composition and lighting.
