#6 In your opinion, when is it beneficial, ethical, or appropriate to digitally alter photographic portraits? When do you think it is inappropriate or ethically wrong?

Till some time back I used to feel that Photographs shouldn't be edited and a real photographer should click good photographs without retouching them. But mow with the changing time I think its important to have both editing and photography skills. I think its appropriate to alter them when it makes it look more appealing without the dissatisfaction of the subject. I fell its wrong to do it when the subject doesn't approve it and when altering makes the photo look worse.
