Blog Entries 11, 12, 13, 14, 15

11) The place that comes to my mind when I think of the past places is the Fateh Sagar Lake; it is in Udaipur city, India that is my hometown. It reminds me of the times, when I used to go to school in Udaipur in 8th Grade. Udaipur is one of the most beautiful cities in India; it’s also called the Venice of the East because there are about 5-6 lakes that lie in this geographic location. This lake is one of the most famous lakes out of all the others because of its spread, beauty, sunset/sunrise view and the street shops around the lake. There is a road that surrounds the lake and also has a bunch of places for people to sit and chill. I do have many photographs of the place but not as I would like it to be. I would like a photo with my 2 best friends chilling in on the lakeshore from where one can see major portion of the lake. The camera eye’s view will be of the water surrounded by mountains with not a lot of people other that us in the picture. The time just around the sunset, so the sky emitting vermillion colors with bunch of birds flying in the sky.

12) I would want to talk about the same photograph I mentioned in entry #11. The photograph would definitely make me fell good if it was clicked in the Past.   To me today the same photograph will look a lot more different. The place has changed in a lot of ways. The lake used to be full to the brim with water; today there it is at a ridiculously low level. My friends, whom I used to see every day are all working now and hardly get free time to chill. The population of the city has also increased, as before it just used to be the weekends when the place used to be crowded, now all the days its packed. I don’t think it will be possible to reenact the scene today.

13) The first thing that comes to my mind when I think of land art is a beach. Beach is a a place where I have made a lot of sculptures when I was a child. And I am sure I can find a a picture of it. Its something many of us have done in our childhood and have it documented.

14) Today there are hardly any places left which are totally untouched by humans. But I think there are still some places that are less touched. (Assuming I only take in consideration the places within human reach) I think there is still a lot to explore in Antarctica, there have been just a few photographers who have spend enough time in Antarctica to explore it. If I had to go and take pictures over there I would look for the unexpected and will try to explore the unseen.

15) Before, when I was in school I was considered a kid by my family members and always used to be away from responsibilities. After I came to college, lot of things changed. I am now loaded with responsibilities, everyone in my family started giving me work. If I had to take a picture to show this change, I will use the technique of double exposure. In one picture I will take a self-portrait of me playing some game or chilling with friends. In the other picture I will take a picture of myself working in a office or of me leading something.
